BEREAVEMENT CHAPTER
One of the foundational pillars of WAMUSYI IN DIASPORA is its Bereavement Chapter, which extends support and assistance to families facing the loss of a loved one. The chapter’s mission is to alleviate the burden of bereavement by providing emotional support, financial aid, and logistical assistance during these challenging times. The organization has successfully assisted over 14 families, helping them navigate the difficulties associated with mourning.

DEVELOPEMENT CHAPTER:
The Development Chapter of WAMUSYI IN DIASPORA concentrates on fostering personal and professional growth within the community. This involves organizing workshops, seminars, and skill-building events that empower members to excel in their careers and personal endeavors. By offering a platform for networking and knowledge exchange, the organization helps individuals realize their full potential and contribute positively to society.

PHILANTHROPY CHAPTER:
The Philanthropy Chapter embodies the organization’s commitment to giving back. Through various charitable initiatives and community projects, WAMUSYI IN DIASPORA members work together to make a positive impact both locally and in Kenya. This chapter aims to address social issues and uplift disadvantaged individuals through collective efforts, embodying the spirit of generosity and compassion.

CURRENT ACHIEVEMENTS AND FUTURE PLANS

Since its inception, WAMUSYI IN DIASPORA has grown and members and continues to expanding and represents the Kamba community in Washington. The organization has made remarkable progress in establishing and supporting the Kamba community in Washington. Members contribute to the organization through an annual membership fee of $50, as well as a $250 contribution towards the emergency kitty, ensuring that the community remains strong and resilient in times of need.

Looking ahead, WAMUSYI IN DIASPORA is gearing up for its interactive Annual Cultural Event. This event aims to showcase the rich heritage of the Kamba community through cultural artifacts, traditional performances, and displays of beauty. This celebration not only strengthens cultural bonds but also promotes understanding and appreciation of the Kamba culture among the wider community.

WAMUSYI IN DIASPORA continues to evolve as a beacon of unity and support for the Kamba community in Washington state. By nurturing connections, providing essential aid during difficult times, fostering development, and engaging in philanthropic endeavors, the organization exemplifies the power of community collaboration and the preservation of cultural identity in a foreign land.

The interim leadership team consists of the following key roles:

President: The President serves as the overall leader and representative of WAMUSYI IN DIASPORA. They provide strategic direction, lead meetings, and make executive decisions in consultation with other members of the leadership team.

Vice President: The Vice President supports the President in their duties and assumes their responsibilities in their absence. They collaborate closely with other members of the leadership team to ensure the organization’s effective operation.

Treasurer: The Treasurer is responsible for managing the organization’s finances, including collecting membership dues, handling expenses, and maintaining transparent financial records. They play a crucial role in ensuring the financial sustainability of the organization.

Two Secretaries: The Secretaries are responsible for recording minutes during meetings, maintaining official correspondence, and managing administrative tasks. Their role is essential in ensuring effective communication and record-keeping within the organization.

 
 

Organizing Chairperson: The Organizing Chairperson oversees the planning and execution of events, initiatives, and projects organized by WAMUSYI IN DIASPORA. They work closely with other members to ensure that activities are well-coordinated and aligned with the organization’s mission.

The organization operates under a constitution that outlines the values, mission, and operational guidelines of WAMUSYI IN DIASPORA. This constitution serves as the foundation upon which the organization is built, providing a clear framework for decision-making, membership, roles, responsibilities, and other aspects of the group’s functioning.

The leadership team, as well as the broader membership, abide by the constitution’s principles and adhere to its provisions in order to maintain transparency, accountability, and fairness in the organization’s operations.
